Is it possible to get the pysnip server stuff for 0.24 so we can play it again?

Pysnip didn't exist for 0.24, neither did pyspades.
If you install the original .msi for 0.24 you will get the server.exe, and with some magical IP trickery you can probably get both the server and the client working.. not as easy as it sounds. We (meaning Greasemonkey) managed to get 0.35 usable, so I don't doubt you could get 0.24 usable.. though 0.35 is probably close enough.

<@mikuli> the bad part in this plan is that it involves an already busy tea-drinking scone chomper with a monocle
Why not 0.54? It's masterrace on 4chan, they used to have servers open, I remember the great /v/ evenings in the first weeks of 2014, but then it slowly died.

There is no reason for 0.24 to be hosted when JaGex already provided you with that.

The truth is that I haven't worked on it for the past 2 months.

I also agree that AoS 1.x isn't an alternative, unless it is for something bad, not like 0.54.
Atleast You do agreed that 0.76 is the best version...

Ok, then, I want to host a .54 server
How?
How?
bloodfox wrote:Ok, then, I want to host a .54 serverUnfortunately the current server list doesn't support any other version than 0.75, 0.76, and PowersomethingIforgot.
How?
So first you have to make your own serverlist.
Then you need to make .54 pysnip hostable.
If you can successfully do this you can only hope for another person to join your server.

If it wasn't popular people wouldn't play it.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those anti-0.75 fanboys)

But if you consider what AoS actually is, you come to the conclusion that it started to move away from its concept when 0.60 was released and 0.54 is actually better to play; if you see AoS as some CoD fake, you are right. When I wrote 0.75, I referred to 0.76 as well since they're both very similar.LeCom wrote:I agree, sharing opinions that go against your point is dumb, but I did so to share my point.Lincent wrote:What you said is pretty dumb. 0.54 plays a lot better than 0.75, and AoS 1.0 isn't an alternative.LeCom wrote:Why not 0.54? You can get PySpades for 0.54 here: https://code.google.com/p/pyspades/downloads/list
You just need to find the right link - AoS 0.54 was released on 2011-06-29
PS. the topic is about pre-0.60 AoS.
